Carnival Spectacular

Come one, come all!

This months featured party is a fun one. Who doesn’t love a good carnival? This theme is such a great way to utilize the great outdoors, and could easily be catered to any age group with fun activities and party favors! It can also be done very affordably, with a lot of opportunity to DIY. My favorite! Let’s jump in.

This balloon arch is so fun and so affordable! I love the twisty balloons to add more dimension to the backdrop. Since the carnival theme itself allows for lots of different tables and stands, the arch would make a great welcome piece and backdrop for photos.

I saw this fun DIY idea for some stands for carnival games, food, party favors, ect. Wood crates stacked, paired with some cheap lumber and plywood for a tabletop! Then you can sell on facebook marketplace, save for a lemonade stand on a hot day, or disassemble and reuse the pieces for another project! You can easily find triangle banner packs to match on amazon, and walla! The most festive, carnival like booth!

I also stumbled upon these cute striped table clothes that would be perfect for folding tables! They come in packs, or individually. Some packs even come with a fun canopy to match the tables to create the carnival booth like look.

Decorations beyond that come easy for this theme. There are some really fun dessert holders out there that are very on brand for a carnival, such as these ticket cupcake holders, farris wheel food holder, tent food holder, and tent cake pop stand! Pair those with the cutest chalk food signs (made by yours truly), and you’ve got yourself the most adorable carnival spread! There’s certainly no shortage of fun, easy carnival food options!

For party favors, this can be easily catered to your age group. Starting with the youngest party goers, you could do “carnival prizes” of stuffed animals or bubbles. Older ages might enjoy carnival stamps, clown noses, temporary tattoos, candy, sticky hands, ect.

This theme can allow you to get really creative with outdoor games. Some obvious fun ones include ring toss, obstacle coarses, pin the tail on the donkey, putput golf, ball toss to knock cans down, pick a lucky duck, fishing, or classic outdoor games. Using tickets to play the games, or winning tickets towards prizes will give it that real carnival feel! All of these options would be super easy to DIY.

I hope this gives some inspiration and nostalgia for a classic birthday party theme! Especially for the DIYers out there… you can really go crazy on a dime with this one!

As always, for making it this far along! Don’t forget to subscribe to the blog!
